KCD Studio:

A portal into the world of interiors

Client background

KCD Studio takes a novel approach to interior architecture and design by guiding clients through the adventure of home construction and renovation. Striving to be open, passionate, and communicative, the firm navigates the blockades of fear and doubt that are inherent in all construction projects. Typical interior design firms often override client intuitions and emotions, leaving the built work absent of meaning or connection. KCD Studio flips the script and frames the process as an Alice in Wonderland adventure where the ordinary and the supernatural blend together as part of the same story.

Pain points to fix

Minimal effort and consideration had been given to branding, identity design, or other components. Without a formal logo or identity system, all printed and digital content felt inconsistent. On job sites or at industry-related conventions, KCD was unable to market themselves effectively without merchandise or business cards. The firm’s only digital touchpoint was an instagram account which had previously been used for personal reasons. Without a proper channel to display project information and market the firm’s services, they felt profits wouldn’t grow as quickly.

The turn out

We met with KCD studio in a series of brand strategy sessions to develop and refine business goals, motivations and key attributes of the firm, and their ideal clients. From these meetings, we began several rounds of identity system development with the final result yielding a new logo system, fonts, and color palette. We then produced a number of physical collateral, including contracts, proposals, and selection packages. During this process, we worked to provide clean and simple designs that gave contrast in a balanced manner. Last, we developed a marketing website and client questionnaire.
